Scott’s mediation style is facilitative and flexible. People often have motivations beneath their stated narratives, or even their own awareness. By asking strategic questions, Scott helps parties understand the stories and details driving a dispute. Strategic questions, the promise of confidentiality and a facilitated dialogue allow parties to disclose, understand and address their most strongly felt needs, leading to the conflict resolution.
Scott can also assist in traditional negotiations with resolution based solely on money. Further, when requested by all parties, Scott may evaluate the conflict and propose a possible solution.
On occasion, Scott may suggest bringing in a co-mediator to help resolve particular issues (e.g. a property appraiser, a couples counselor, etc.), as agreed to by the parties.
